Bio
Leslie has a B.S. in Forestry with concentration in Biometry and a M.S. in Crop Science with concentration in Weed Science and a minor in Statistics, both from NC State University. She has eight years of experience at Virginia Tech in both row crop weed control and peanut agronomy research and extension projects, and she has been with Syngenta and legacy companies for the past 25 years. In her previous role (Syngenta Crop Protection Biological Data Analytics), she provided project management, consultation, and training in statistical design and analysis, data visualization, and data exploitation tools and methods. In early 2013, she joined the Traits Field Program and Equivalence Assessment (FP&EA) team within Seeds Product Safety as a Technical Expert. Currently, she works with the FP&EA team as the lead statistical analyst. In this role, she conducts statistical analyses of agronomy and composition studies, writes and reviews regulatory reports, and advocates for good scientific and statistical practices among global food, feed, and environmental regulatory bodies. In her free time, Leslie enjoys live music, yoga, camping/hiking/paddling, living close to nature with her husband and dogs, and spending time with her two young granddaughters. In addition to supporting all Wolfpack athletics (Go Pack!), she is an avid “diamond sports” (baseball and softball) fan who played for many years and enthusiastically supports her nephews’ baseball careers.
