Major (Retired) Larry Hancock
Bio
Larry is a 1969 graduate of NC State with a bachelor’s degree in Recreation resource Administration Larry spent six months in India as a participant in a 4-H Exchange program. He then went to Armor Officer Basic, Army Aviation School, and served with two units in Vietnam. He completed his initial active duty at Ft. Bragg, followed by over 18 years in the North Carolina Army National Guard. Larry worked as an administrator in Parks and Recreation, textiles, and, ultimately, with 4-H. He finished his professional life serving as the NC 4-H Camps and Conference Center’s Specialist, at NC State University, for 27 years. Larry is an officer and Board member with the Raleigh Host Lions Club, Historic Yates Mill Associates, The Historic Lucks Cannery, and two 4-H Committees. He is a Sunday School Teacher and Deacon at Forest Hills Baptist Church in Raleigh, NC.
