Wilma S. Hammett, PhD, MSHE, BSHE

Bio

Wilma was a faculty member in the Family and Consumer Sciences Department (now Agricultural and Human Sciences) for 30 years.  After retirement, she started her own design consulting/training company, Design Transitions, providing design-based education to design and healthcare professionals, the furniture industry and individual clients.  She has designed public areas of 10 senior housing projects in Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina.  She has conducted training on designing for aging-in-place for two national decorating franchises, two design associations and has taught an ASID approved CEU to designers in 15 states.
