Alan has over 30 years’ experience in the agricultural crop protection industry, at Bayer CropScience and its predecessor companies. He began his career in 1985 in product development and later moved into the environmental affairs department as the Technical Issues/Stewardship Manager. Alan then joined the global regulatory team and later transferred to Lyon, France, accepting the position of Global Regulatory Team Lead for the herbicide and fungicide team, followed by becoming the Global RegulatoryManager and Team Lead for Insecticides. He returned to the USA in 2001, accepting the position of Director of Environmental Affairs and then Director of Stakeholder Relations in the NAFTA Bayer CropScience headquarters located in Research Triangle Park, NC. His group was responsible for stakeholder and industry relations.
Most recently as the Sr. Technical Advisor for the Innovative Vector Control Consortium (IVCC), Alan led the regulatory efforts for the delivery of the Vector Expedited Review Voucher (VERV) through US law (PRIA 5, Dec 2022) and EPA regulation (Dec 2023).
Alan is currently retired but still consults in the agricultural sector.
Alan is married, has four children and resides in Cary, NC.
