Bio

Lendy Johnson, who received both her undergraduate and master’s degrees in agricultural teacher education from NC State, is director of organization at North Carolina Farm Bureau. In this role, Johnson is the primary contact for the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences’ annual Institute for Future Agricultural Leaders (IFAL). A week-long, annual leadership and career development conference for rising N.C. high school seniors, IFAL welcomes youth to NC State’s campus to develop their leadership skills and learn about CALS majors and associated careers. Prior to this role, she was an agricultural education instructor in Wake County. Johnson is passionate about educating others and also regularly collaborates with faculty in the Department of Agricultural and Human Sciences on undergraduate internships and leadership opportunities. Over the years, Johnson has been active in the North Carolina FFA Association, serving as president in 2004. She is a graduate of the North Carolina Tobacco Trust Fund Commission Agricultural Leadership Development Program and an honorary state FFA degree recipient. She has also received numerous scholarships, including the Honorable Jim Graham Scholarship and North Carolina Teaching Fellows Scholarship. Johnson lives in Rolesville, N.C. with her husband, son, and younger brother.
